Dress Rehearsal: Information and times for your class will be sent home two weeks before rehearsal. Each class will be assigned a specific time to come to dress rehearsal. There are many other scheduled events that night and if you are among those with conflicting schedules, please let me know ASAP so I can make sure to schedule your class at a time that won’t interfere. Dress rehearsal is mandatory! We will be selling DVDs and tickets for the recital at dress rehearsal and you will get your pictures then as well after accounts are made current. Also, Jamie will be selling dance shorts and harem pants at both rehearsal and recital if you are interested in purchasing those for your dancer.

Statement of Account: Two weeks before rehearsal we will be sending home your Statement of Account. This will show you where your account stands and what may need to be paid before the recital.

Costumes: Most classes have their Spring Recital costumes by now. Please be so careful that they stay in perfect condition until the recital. Don’t let your child play in them yet! Also, check to make sure tights are still in good condition and that your dancer has the correct shoes. If you need to order more tights, let us know by May 9th.

Goody-bye Miss Jo! Some of you may already know our wonderful Miss Jo won’t be teaching next year. She will be busy with a new baby due at the end of June. We have been so grateful for her hard work and fun personality these past two years and we want to send her off in style! We will be having a baby shower/goodbye party for her on Saturday, May 17th from 10:00-11:30 am at the studio. Please come party with us and help her get ready for her baby boy. Also, Miss Jo is putting together a slideshow of dance memories for the recital. Parents, if you have any pictures of your child doing cool dance tricks, pictures from recitals, from them dancing in the studio, etc, please email them to Jo at

Shoes: If any of you dancers who have been with us for a few years have some outgrown ballet shoes, we have a few girls looking to buy a used pair before the recital. Specifically, size 6 or 7 in adults. Please let me know if you have some you’d be willing to sell- the sooner the better!

Shorts/Legging/Harem pants: Our amazing seamstress, Jami Petersen is starting a side business! She will be making and selling boycut shorts for $8 (the slighter longer, more modest version of dance shorts), leggings for $15 adult size and $12 child size, and harem pants (Swag-eez!) for $30 adult size and $25 child size. She will be selling these at dress rehearsal and the recital. She will also have a booth at Peach Days! As a Turning Point/Diversity student, you have the opportunity to have yours custom-made. If you want to choose a specific fabric for any of these items, call Jami at 435-225-2416.

Student of the month: Our student of the month for April is Amy Hiatt in Miss Alex’s Monday 4:30 class! Amy is always on time, with shoes, water bottle, and a great attitude ready to go! She has attended many of our Technique Saturdays, which shows extra dedication. She is always kind and respectful to both her teacher and fellow classmates and she never gives up. Way to go, Amy! Keep up the good work!

Competition Team tryouts: DON’T FORGET ABOUT COMPETITION TRYOUTS ON SATURDAY, MAY 10TH at the studio. Check the blog or Facebook for details and times. If you are interested in stepping up your dance abilities to the next level, this is how you do it! Everyone who tries out WILL make a team so don’t let the word “tryout” intimidate you. We are launching our new website on May 10th! It will be It will have info for both Turning Point and Diversity on it, as well as pictures, prices, teacher info, etc. Until then, the blog will still be going if you need any info. Thank you all so much for being a part of our sixth year.

To the parents: Joanna, Alex, and I have felt so privileged to be a part of these wonderful kids’ lives and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for choosing our studio to dance with. To the dancers: thank you for being such a bright spot in our lives and we hope we have been the same for you.
